Configure email sender

This topic is specific to the AccelByte Gaming Services (AGS) Shared Cloud tier.

Overview

AccelByte Gaming Services (AGS) Shared Cloud includes features that will send automated emails to your players, such as Personal Data Change Notification, Forgot Password Notification, Player Ban Notification, Updated Legal Notification, etc. By default, AccelByte Gaming Services (AGS) Shared Cloud will not send those automated emails unless the Email Configuration Setting is configured first, as an email sender address is required for the 'From' field in the email header, e.g. no-reply@myawesomestudio.com.

This article shows you how to set your own name and domain to use as the sender of your automated emails by configuring them in the AGS Shared Cloud Admin Portal.

Prerequisites

You will need a valid domain and have completed the setup necessary to gain access to the AGS Admin Portal to complete the steps in this article.

Set email address as sender

  1. In the AGS Admin Portal, in your studio namespace dashboard, go to Admin Task > Email Configuration.

  2. Edit the Email Sender Name and Email Sender Address field.

  3. Add the CNAME entries from the list to your domain DNS record. Please refer to your DNS Provider's documentation for adding the CNAME records.

  4. After the CNAME entries are added to your DNS record, click Verify. If successful, your automated emails sent to players will use your email configuration.

    note

If the verification fails, the DNS propagation may not have completed. Try to Verify again after some time has passed.
