Manage chat reporting reasons

Introduction

AccelByte Gaming Services (AGS) chat reporting and moderation feature enables you to create a list of customized reasons that your players can select from when they submit a report. This list of reasons is also used in auto-moderation rules and when game admins manually review and take action on reports.

The chat reporting and moderation settings are available in game namespaces in the AGS Admin Portal. On the sidebar, go to Game Management > Reporting and Moderation to access the menu.

Prerequisites

Game admins must have the followings permissions:

You also have the option to create reason groups, which you can use to categorize the reasons you create. One reason can belong to multiple groups. Go to the Reason Group tab to create a reason group.

Create a chat reporting reason

To create a reason, follow these steps:

  1. Under the Reporting and Moderation menu, click on Reason. The Reason page appears.

  2. Click the + Add Reason button. The Add New Reason form appears.

  3. Fill in the required information:

    • Reason Name: type in a name for the reason.
    • Reason Group: select the reason groups you would like to add the new reason to.
    • Description: (optional) describe the reason.
  4. Click Add. The new reason will be added to the reasons list and will be immediately available in your game.
