Connect DevKits to deploy builds
Introduction
AccelByte Development Toolkit (ADT) Hub's Devices (DevKit) Manager tool enables you to create and manage DevKits for various consoles, such as PS4, PS5, and Xbox. You can then deploy game builds to these DevKits from channels that you're subscribed to in ADT Hub.
- The steps in this article are applicable to creating DevKits for PS4, PS5, and Xbox consoles.
- You can still choose to add DevKits using the respective DevKit Manager or Console Manager applications of the mentioned consoles. The ADT Hub will synchronize display the DevKits you've created as long as you add their IP addresses.
Create and connect a DevKit
In ADT Hub, click on Devices on the main menu. The Devices page appears.
From the available tabs, select the console that you want to create a DevKit for, e.g., PS4, PS5, Xbox. The DevKit Manager panel appears.
Click the + button on the panel.
On the form, type in the IP address for your new DevKit. You also have the option to type in a name for the new DevKit.
Click Add. The details of the new DevKit appears on the DevKit Manager panel.
To connect the DevKit, click on the ellipsis menu and click on Connect. Once you're connected, the DevKit's status changes to Connected.
noteIf another user is using the same DevKit, a pop-up will appear with the option to force disconnect the other user. You have the option to proceed with force-disconnecting the other user or to cancel the process.
Set a default DevKit for a console
- In ADT Hub, click on Devices on the main menu. The Devices page appears.
- Go to the details page of the DevKit you want to set as default for a console.
- Click on the ellipsis menu and select Set Default Device.
Download and deploy a build to a DevKit
Before following these steps, the following conditions must be met:
- You must already be subscribed to the channel with the build you want to download and deploy.
- You must have already created and connected the designated DevKit for the build. See Create and connect a DevKit.
To deploy a build to a DevKit, follow these steps:
In ADT Hub, go to the channel with the build you want to deploy.
In the channel, open the track that contains the build.
Click Download to download the build and wait for the download to finish. When the download finishes, the game status button changes to Deploy.
Click Deploy to deploy the game to the DevKit. If this is the first deployment for the build, your game will be launched right away.
note- If a message appears that says the default DevKit is not connected, click on Select/Connect DevKit. On the window that appears, select the DevKit you want to connect to by ticking its corresponding Set as Default checkbox. If another user is using the same DevKit, a pop-up will appear with the option to force disconnect the other user. You have the option to force disconnect the user or to go back and select another DevKit.
- To cancel the deployment, click on the Kill Process button on the track card.
