Introduction to ADT distribution channels
Introduction
A distribution channel in AccelByte Development Toolkit (ADT) is a channel where you create tracks and then distribute game builds directly to your teams from within the tracks.
A distribution channel can either be public (where anyone in your namespace can see, join, and access the channel's content) or private (with access granted solely by the channel's administrators).
You can create and manage multiple distribution channels, each with a designated purpose. A distribution channel may contain one or more tracks, and each track serves as a container for storing builds for a game version. This organization allows for efficient management and distribution of different versions of the game throughout its development process. The track itself can also be assigned to various build platform such as Windows, Linux, PS5, PS4, XBox Series X, XBox One, Nintendo Switch and Android.
The following are sample uses cases for distribution channels:
- A private channel for your game developers to collaborate and manage builds in.
- A public channel for your QA engineers to download new builds for testing.
- A channel that stores release builds or demo builds.
ADT gives you the flexibility to create and manage distribution channels and channel tracks using ADT Hub and ADT CLI. For more information, see the following articles:
